Pega Platform™ version 8.8 expands the scope of Constellation, a modernized, prescriptive UI architecture. Constellation offers superior efficiency and responsiveness, but supports a different feature set than the traditional, section-based UI architecture. By understanding the capabilities and limitations of each framework, you can better meet your business needs.

When choosing a UI architecture, it is important to understand that the selected UI architecture generates a set of UI rules specific for that architecture. Changing the architecture of an application requires significant manual reconfiguration and is not recommended.
NOTE: In an effort to simplify concepts and improve understanding about feature improvements, Pega has bundled all new UI technology under a new name, Constellation. What was referred to as Cosmos React is now the Constellation design system, DX API v2 is now Constellation DX API, and SDKs are now Constellation SDKs.

The following table presents recommended uses for the two UI architectures.
