A relationship map visually represents your contacts in a hierarchical form. It enables sales representatives to identify the individuals, their role, and relationships.
Build a relationship map from scratch, from another map, or from a template. Add cards to the map and draw lines to connect the cards to represent the relationship in a chart.

On a relationship map, you can use three types of cards: contact, buyer persona, and placeholder:
- A contact card is the primary card. It represents a persona that the sales representative knows.
- The buyer persona card represents a persona that the sales representative does not know but should make it a point to contact.
- A placeholder card is a generic card that helps you fill out the map when the sales representative does not know the contact or the persona.
You can use two types of lines (relationship):
- The reports to line shows the hierarchy of the relationship of the personas.
- The influence line shows that a persona has influence on another persona, without a direct connection.

- Organization
- Account
- Opportunity
Template case type
Relationship templates use the template case type. Relationship template is a skeleton and a starting point for the map. It can be reused whenever a sales representative wants to create a map. It is a simplified version of the relationship map. Instead of three types, it only has two types of cards: buyer persona and placeholder.
Buyer persona data type
Buyer persona is a type of card on the map and template. The list of buyer personas can be maintained in the tools left navigation for the sales operations user. Each buyer persona contains a list of titles in the application. When you add a buyer persona card, it uses the titles that are associated with it and identifies contacts that have titles like the titles in the buyer persona.
List of contacts data source
The list of contacts to add to the maps is determined by contacts in the work type associated with the map and parents. For example, if you are on a map associated with an organization, then the contact list is only the contact associated with that organization. If you are on a map for an opportunity, you can see contacts from the opportunity as well as from the organization.
