Apache Cassandra database support

Updated on October 16, 2017

You can read data from and write data to an Apache Cassandra Server database. Not all database operations and Pega® Platform features are supported for Apache Cassandra.

Unsupported operations and features

The following Pega Platform operations and features are not supported for Apache Cassandra databases:

  • Obj-Browse method
  • Rule-Connect-SQL
  • Storing records with nested data – all properties must be top level and exposed because there is no BLOB column
  • Advanced reporting features
    • Joins
    • Functions
    • Grouping (aggregated columns mixed with non-aggregated columns) – aggregation is supported only on an entire data set
    • Filtering after aggregation
    • Subreports
  • Previous topic When an activity fails, what happens to the database connection?
  • Next topic Connecting to an Apache Cassandra database
