Data flow runs stop on the Stream service nodes

Updated on September 10, 2021

You want to process data flows on the Stream service nodes, but the data flow runs stop. The status of the Stream service nodes is Normal.

Cause

The Kafka broker in the Stream service is not available for all of the Stream service nodes. Pega® Platform must have access to all Kafka broker ports in the cluster.

The Stream service is built on the Apache Kafka platform. To understand Kafka-related terminology, see the Apache Kafka documentation.

Solution

  1. Make sure that your cluster nodes can communicate on port 9092.

  2. If you experience conflicts with other processes on your Pega Platform instance, change the pyBrokerPort configuration entry in the prconfig.xml file by adding an entry similar to this example:

    <env name="dsm/services/stream/pyBrokerPort" value="<port_number>"/>,

where<port_number> is a port that does not cause conflicts in your configuration.
