Identity Management and Single Sign-On Vendors

Updated on September 13, 2021

This presentation is part of the Authentication Overview Self-Study Course.

Transcript

Most LDAP products are implementations of the LDAP version 3 standard at the core; many, like Microsoft Active Directory, offer proprietary extensions to the LDAP standard.  Other players in this field include IBM Tivoly, Novell eDirectory, and iPlanet Directory Server.

The Web Access Management arena is a crowded and highly competitive space.  Names you will run across include eTrust SiteMinder (now Computer Associates), Tivoli Access Manager, and RSA Security Access Manager.  Sun Java System Access Manager is popular with corporations who capitalize on Sun Solaris and other Unix servers.

Popular Enterprise SSO solutions are available from Novell, IBM, CA and the small but profitable niche player Passlogix.

Vendors offering complete Identity Management solutions include Novell, IBM, CA and BMC Software.
