For each of your applications, create a new application product rule or update an existing product rule that you already use in a standard deployment pipeline. Your application product rule should include any fixes made to support the update. For more information about creating product rules, see Packaging your application in a product rule.

For each of your applications, create a confidence test product rule that includes the confidence testing assets, such as access groups, operators, and data instances that are necessary to make your Go-NoGo confidence testing decision in your temporary production environment. Do not include any rules in this product rule that are included in the test application package.

When you deploy the update pipeline, Deployment Manager promotes the changes in these rules to the temporary production environment. The confidence testing assets are only for testing purposes, and Deployment Manager discards them before the next Production stage during which Pega software is updated in your actual production environment.
