For Pega Platform 8.3 and earlier: Patching in-place from the command line

To use the command line to configure the file, the Deployment user must run the appropriate script. For 8.3.6 patches, use the patch.bat (for Windows) or (for Linux) script; for all other patches, use the upgrade.bat (for Windows) or (for Linux) script.

  1. If you have not done so already, edit the file.
    1. Open the file in the scripts directory of your distribution image: Directories.distributionDirectory\scripts\
    2. Configure the connection properties. Use the existing schema names for the rules schema and data schema names.
    3. Optional: If you have a separate customer data schema, set the target schema name:
    4. Save and close the file.
  2. Open a command prompt and navigate to the scripts directory.
  3. Run either patch.bat or

Pega Platform writes command-line output to a file in the Pega-image\scripts\logs directory.
