Updating Pega Infinity for on-premises environments

Suggest edit
Updated on April 12, 2022

Update to the latest Pega Infinity release to take advantage of new features and capabilities in the most current release and to apply the latest security enhancements and bug fixes.

If you update from Pega Infinity release 8.4.2 or later to release 8.5.1 or later on Tomcat and PostgreSQL, you experience near-zero downtime during updates. You perform a rolling restart of your Pega nodes so that you can continue to use your applications during the update.

If you update from Pega Infinity release 8.4.1 or earlier, or if you update from release 8.4.2 or later on all other application servers and databases, you experience minimal downtime.

Clients who deployed Pega Platform version 8.5 and later in their Kubernetes environment can update their Pega application using Pega-provided Docker images and their existing Helm charts. For details, see Installing, patching, or updating Pega software. To obtain the Docker image for your update version, see Using Pega-provided Docker images.

For more information about each update process and the corresponding checklist of actions you perform during the update, see the following topics:
