Implementing eligibility rule validation

Updated on October 7, 2020

Eligibility rules are created for product offerings in the Product Catalog for Communications. When adding a product offer to a quote, eligibility rules must be validated.

The CheckEligibility data transform is used to validate eligibility rules in Pega Configure Price Quote for Communications. It can also be extended to add more validations on new eligibility criteria. For each type of eligibility criteria, a validation data transform is created. For example:

  • The CheckIndustryEligibility data transform validates whether the selected offer is applicable for the industry defined in the eligibility rule.
  • The CheckCustomerIDEligibility, CheckCustomerNameEligibility, and CheckCustomerClassEligibility data transforms validate whether the selected offer is applicable for the customer based on ID, Name, and Class, respectively.

To validate the eligibility rule for the newly created criteria, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a new data transform with the appropriate logic for the validation that you want to implement on new eligibility criteria. See Data Transforms - Completing the Create, Save As, or Specialization form.

  2. Add the data transform that you created in step 1 to the CheckEligibility data transform. See Data Transform form – Completing the Definition tab.
