Agent Management
Beginning in Pega Foundation for Insurance 7, a new way to manage agent and agencies was implemented to provide a simple example of how you can easily manage data within the Pega Foundation for Insurance. The agent and agency data is comprised of sample data. It is expected that it gets replaced by a customer's Agency Management System.
In the Pega Foundation for Insurance developer portal, a landing page lets you manage the sample data for agents and agencies. You can navigate to the landing page by clicking Configure > Framework Management > Tools > Agent/Agency Management. On the Agent/Agency Management screen, you can search for an agent or agency, create an agent, or create an agency.
This implementation uses the latest UI as well as data pages to search for an agent or agency. The data pages are read data from the Pega Foundation for Insurance data tables. You can replace the source of its data with your data source.
The Agent Search uses the D_AgentList data page that returns results of type PegaIns-Data- Party-Person-Agent. It uses the GetListOfAgents report definition of the PegaIns-Interface- Agent class (which maps to the data table). In your implementation, you can replace the source to do a look-up to your own agent data and then just update the response data transform. By doing these two steps, you should be able to search your agent management system data through Pega Foundation for Insurance.
The following sections describe how the agents can be managed in the Pega Foundation for Insurance.
