Running the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker

Run the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker to identify and resolve withdrawn, deprecated, final, and customized rules.

Before you begin: Import the rules list for your application. For more information, see Importing the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureSales AutomationPega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker.
    In case of an update from a 7.x environment, click the Designer Studio button instead of Configure.
  2. In the Product list, select your application that is implemented on Pega Sales Automation.
  3. In the Upgrade to list, select the version that you want to check.
  4. Click Prepare Report.
    Result: The Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker generates the following types of reports with descriptive actions that you can perform:
    • Withdrawn rules with all rules that are withdrawn between the source application version and the destination application version.
    • Final rules with all final rules between the source application version and the destination application version.
    • Deprecated rules with all rules that are deprecated between the source application version and the destination application version.
    • Additional customized rules with all rules that are customized between the source application version and the destination application version.
  5. Export the reports and additional information:
    • To export the reports as a PDF file, select Export Summary.
    • To export the list of customized and referenced rules in the implementation layer, select Export Implementation Impact.
    • To export withdrawn, deprecated, final, and additional customized rules as an Excel file, select Export Product Rule changes.
  6. Optional: To regenerate the report data, select the Regenerate custom overrides check box, and then click Prepare Report.
    After you click Regenerate custom overrides, the length of the background process depends on the number of rules in the implementation layer.
