Exporting interactions and decisions to a repository

Updated on May 30, 2022

In Pega Customer Decision Hub version 8.7, you can export interactions and decision results to a repository, by using the export infrastructure that Pega Customer Decision Hub provides out of the box.

You can use the exported data for analysis in the Customer Profile Viewer and external business intelligence (BI) tools, as well as for auditing.

If you skipped the repository selection when running the setup wizard, select the repository in your application settings.

The interactionHistory/writeToStream dynamic system setting that controls the export of interactions is enabled by default, which means that the system can start exporting interactions as soon as you select the repository. Optionally, you can enable the export of decisions by enabling the decision/writeToStream dynamic system setting.

The exported files are stored in the repository for 180 days. You can change the default retention periods for exported interactions and decisions by modifying the related dynamic system settings.

The WriteDataToInteractionFiles and WriteDataToDecisionFiles real-time data flow runs create files in the repository every 300 seconds, or after processing 75,000 records. The condition that is satisfied first triggers file creation. You can modify the snapshot management settings to control the size and number of exported files.

Note: In the 8.7 release, Pega Customer Decision Hub continues to store interaction history in the relational database. Therefore, it is still possible to extract interaction history data from the database to files in a repository, using a manually defined export process. For more information about this earlier method, see Exporting interaction history data from the relational database.
What to do next: To configure the export of interactions and decisions to the repository, using the new export feature, perform the following steps:
  1. Selecting a repository for exported interactions and decisions
  2. Changing the file creation limits
  3. Enabling and disabling the export of interactions through a DSS
  4. Enabling and disabling the export of decisions through a DSS
  5. Configuring the retention period for exported interactions through a DSS
  6. Configuring the retention period for exported decisions through a DSS
