Pega Foundation for Healthcare 8.7 features an updated user experience that is based on Pega Platform 8.7 functionality. The key functional enhancements in this release include:

Pega Foundation for Healthcare Release Notes
  • Healthcare Interoperability
    • Published 4 new and 1 updated FHIR clinical service APIs to support 2021CMS Interoperability mandate for enabling patient access to clinical data. FHIR clinical service APIs include:
      • Condition
      • Allergy intolerance
      • Observation
      • Document reference
      • Patient (updated)
    • Enabled multi-source configuration in data pages to dynamically call internal and external APIs.
  • Drug Data Management
    • Created prescription drug and formulary data model
    • Re-located RxNorm ruleset to the PFHC core layer
  • Appeals and Grievances
    • Enhanced Organization Determination workflow to include prescription drug and formulary cases.
    • Enhanced CMS Part C Organization Determination Appeals & Grievances (ODAG) and Part D Coverage Determination Appeals & Grievances (CDAG) reports.
    • Enhanced Appeals and Grievances workflows, including updated display of claim/authorization UI.
