Configuring the negotiation budget milestones

Updated on September 12, 2020

The budget provides personalized minimum, maximum, and target budget amounts based on the customer's value and level of retention risk. These budget values then guide which offers can be added to the basket, preventing users from exceeding the maximum budget amount. You must set these values in Pega Customer Decision Hub. You can also configure default budget values, which are used when Pega Next-Best-Action Advisor does not receive any budget information from Pega Customer Decision Hub.

  1. Log in to Pega Customer Decision Hub.
  2. In the Dev Studio header search text field, enter RetentionBudget and click the strategy that applies to the PegaCRM-Data-Customer in the list of search results.
  3. Save the strategy in your implementation layer. For more information, see Strategy rules - Completing the New or Save As form.
  4. Double-click the Initial Budget set property shape to view the minimum, maximum, and target negotiation values for the budget in the Pega Customer Decision Hub response.
  5. In the Source column, enter values for the following targets.
    • .pyMinBudget - minimum budget
    • .pyMaxBudget - maximum budget
    • .pyTargetBudget - target budget
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Log in to Pega Next-Best-Action Advisor.
  8. In the Dev Studio header search text field, enter DefaultBudget and click the data transform that applies to the Int-PegaCDH-Container-Budget in the list of search results.
  9. Save the data transform in your implementation layer. For more information, see Data Transforms - Completing the New or Save As form.
  10. In the Source column, enter values for the following targets.
    • .Max - maximum budget
    • .Min - minimum budget
    • .Target - target budget
  11. Click Save.
