Creating your Pega Retail Advisor () application

Suggest edit Updated on October 2, 2020

Create your application and extend it to meet your organization's needs by using the New Application wizard.

Before you begin: Access the Organization landing page and create a customer organizational structure. For more information, see Adding an operator by using the organizational chart.

When you run the New Application wizard for Pega Retail Advisor, it creates a set of Pega-provided access groups. You must then create your own operators and add them to the access groups that you create. Caution: If a Pega Retail Advisor application already exists in your system, running the New Application wizard overwrites some of the existing application settings. This will cause issues with your existing application. Having more than one active Pega Retail Advisor application on the same Pega Platform instance is not supported. This includes custom applications built by you, and sample applications provided by Pega.

  1. Log in to Dev Studio using the operator ID, for example, administrator@pega.com, and the password that you specified for that operator.
  2. In the header of Dev Studio, click ApplicationNew Application.
  3. Follow the instructions in the New Application wizard.
For more information, see Creating applications.
  4. Click Go to app.
Result:

The New Application wizard creates the application class structure for you. You can reuse the classes and rule sets that the wizard creates in your applications. When you implement your applications, you can then apply class hierarchy and inheritance principles to help you improve the maintainability and overall efficiency of your application.

For more information, see Class layers and Class hierarchy and inheritance.

What to do next: To fully set up your application, in the top-right corner of App Studio, click HelpApplication Guides, and then follow the setup steps.
