After considering which data entities you want to import, import the data using one of the methods described in Import your data.

Importing customer and organization data

Pega Sales Automation stores customer data only in sales automation tables. You can import the customer data directly by using the data import wizard. To import customer data in Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services, you must import the data to both Pega Foundation for Financial Services and Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services tables, and then link the two tables.

To import customer data, see "Mapping external customer and organization data".

To synchronize data changes, see "Synchronizing customer and organization data".

Mapping external customer and organization data

In Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services, you can import your data by using the Data import wizard, but you can also connect to secondary customer data, such as financial account holdings, by mapping the Pega Foundation for Financial Services tables with the Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services tables. A cross reference table is required to match the keys of a contact or an organization entity from multiple systems of record to a master contact or organization entity key.

Pega Foundation for Financial Services serves as the template for the system of record of customer data, and Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services is the system of record for prospect data.

Use your database management software to populate cross-reference tables that match the keys of contacts in Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services with the contact keys from Pega Foundation for Financial Services.

The Contact relationship table has the CRMEntityId column as the master record key, because Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services is the master system of record and the ExternalSystem column. The following table explains the Contact relationship table structure and sample record pattern:

PEGASAFS-WORK-CONTACT CON-207817777777777 Pega Foundation for Financial Services
PEGASAFS-WORK-ORG ORG-1239912348966Pega Foundation for Financial Services

To populate Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services with customer and organization data, complete the following steps:

  1. Import the core customer and organization data to your application by using the Data import wizard. For more information, see Running a data import using the Data import wizard.
