Importing an institutional healthcare claim (837I)

Suggest edit Updated on April 26, 2021

The CE837IFileListener rule listens for a defined file at a specific file location in the server directory. The rule, by default, listens for the XML837I.xml file at the \XMLOut\ source location. Change these settings to match your requirements. At a minimum:

  1. Create a directory structure where you can drop your 837I Healthcare claims and enter that location in the Source location field.
  2. Modify the value of the Source name mask field to a value that identifies your 837I XML files. This setting is typically set to a mask, for example, *.xml.

The CE837IXMLFileService service method imports and parses the file and completely maps the incoming data to the claim object model. Then it saves it to the backlog.
