Column Populator utility documentation out of date for prior versions

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

The documentation for using the Column Populator utility to populate newly exposed database columns is out of date for Pega 7 Platform versions prior to 7.2. For all Pega 7 versions, refer to the Pega 7.2 help documentation for instructions about how to use this utility.

Child case queries performance can be slow

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

Some customers have reported that performance is slow when they execute queries on child cases. This issue is often indicated by PEGA0005 (query time exceeded limit) alerts that can be correlated to these queries in the logs. To resolve the issue, add a database index to each of your work tables by using a multicolumn index on the pxCoverInsKey, pxObjClass, and pyStatusWork columns.

See Performance improvements for child case queries.

Verify ML Readiness error: Upgrades from Pega 7.1.0 through 7.1.8 do not replace nonversioned rules

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

Upgrading from any Pega 7 Platform version between Pega 7.1 and Pega 7.1.8 to Pega 7.2 does not automatically replace nonversioned rules. If you revalidated and saved a Pega 7.1.x rule after the timestamp on the Pega 7.2 version of the rule, upgrading to Pega 7.2 does not overwrite the saved rule. You might see either of the following behaviors:

  • The upgrade fails with the following error message:
    Verify ML Readiness
  • The upgrade succeeds, but you might be unable to open changed rule forms.

If the upgrade fails, see the Pega 7 Platform Upgrade Guide to force the upgrade.

This known issue does not affect Pega 7.1.9. After the upgrade has finished, apply Hotfix 27288. For information about obtaining and applying hotfixes, see Hotfix Manager.

No support for Android versions earlier than 4.4 on mobile devices

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

Pega® Platform dynamic layouts by default now use Flexbox-based rendering. As a result, mobile devices running on Android versions earlier than 4.4 are not supported in Pega Platform. Such devices cannot render correctly with Flexbox because the Pega Mobile Client includes the default stock browser on the Android operating system.

Package caching is not supported in offline-enabled applications built with the UI Kit 7 (09-01-01) portal

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

When you create an offline-enabled application in Pega® Platform, by default, it uses a portal with the UI Kit 7 (09-01-01) ruleset. In such a case, the package caching functionality cannot be used. You must either disable caching on the Advanced tab of the Access Group rule form, in the Offline Configuration section, or use an adaptive design instead of rendering different elements for different devices with the UI Kit 7 (09-01-01) ruleset.

For more information, see Access Group form - Completing the Advanced tab.

No video controllers displayed on Android 4.3 and earlier versions

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

When you preview a video clip within Pega® Mobile Client on a mobile device that runs Android 4.3 or earlier versions, video controllers are not displayed in full-screen mode.

Upgrades and updates from Pega 7.3 on MSSQL fail with column name mismatch

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

This failure applies only to upgrades and updates from Pega® Platform 7.3 on systems running Microsoft® SQL Server®. In Pega 7.3, the capitalization for the column name pc_work_agile.pzPvStream is incorrect. The correct capitalization is pzPVStream. To prevent upgrade and update failures, before you upgrade or update, run the following command from the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to rename the column:

EXEC sp_rename ‘data-schema-name.pc_work_agile.pzPvStream', 'pzPVStream', 'COLUMN'

Reports on pc_work_agile table fail in Pega 7.3 on MSSQL

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

This failure applies only to Pega® Platform 7.3 on systems running Microsoft SQL Server. In Pega 7.3, the capitalization for the column name pc_work_agile.pzPvStream is incorrect. The correct capitalization is pzPVStream. To prevent reporting failures on the pc_work_agile table, run the following command from the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to rename the column after you install Pega 7.3:

EXEC sp_rename ‘data-schema-name.pc_work_agile.pzPvStream', 'pzPVStream', 'COLUMN'

Nodes in a cluster do not see each other for Docker, multiple VMs, or multiple NICs setup

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

If a cluster is set up in Docker, or uses separate virtual machines (VMs) or multiple network interfaces, you must set the public address in the prconfig.xml file for each Pega® Platform node to avoid problems with node clustering. Add the <env name=”identification/cluster/public/address” value=”IP address”/> setting to specify the public address that is used by each node.

The worklist appears to be empty when you go back from an opened case in an offline-enabled mobile application

Valid from Pega Version 7.4

In a Pega® Platform offline-enabled application, when you go back to the worklist from an opened case, the worklist appears to be empty even though it contains cases. This issue will be fixed in the next release of Pega Platform. Only portals that use the key principles and design of the pyCaseWorker portal are supported in offline-enabled applications.

For more information, see Offline mobility guidelines.
