Setting resource limits for reporting

Updated on August 31, 2020

Improve system performance by controlling the amount of resources that are required to run reports. You can specify system-wide capacity limits for all reports for example, by setting the maximum duration for database queries.

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureReportingSettings.
  2. In the Resource limits when running reports and Resource limits when exporting data from reports sections, next to the specific option, click the Open the rule icon.
Result: The system displays a tab with the rule that you want to update.
  3. In the Value per production level section, enter values for specific production levels.

For example, you can define the maximum number of rows to retrieve when running reports.

The production level of your system is a property in the System data instance (Data-Admin-System class) with a value between 1 (experimental system, low security) and 5 (production).

  4. In the upper-right corner of the screen, click Save.
