Creating an access role by using the rule form

Updated on July 1, 2021

To define a set of permissions within an application, create and configure an access role. This topic shows how to create an access role directly from the rule form. You can also create an access role by using the access role dialog.

  1. In the Dev Studio header, click Create SecurityAccess Role Name.
  2. Enter a short description.
  3. Click Create and open.
Result: The Role tab opens with a role name composed of your application name, followed by a colon, followed by the short description that you entered. If your short description contains spaces or special characters, they are removed. For example, if your application is MyApp and the role short description is My Role, the ID on the Role tab is MyApp:MyRole.
  4. Configure the access role as described in Configuring an access role
