Building an Android app

To create a mobile app from a Pega Platform-based web application, so that your users can install it on their Android devices, navigate to the Channels and interfaces form in Designer Studio.

1. Navigate to the Build tab of the mobile channel interface.
2. In the Platforms section, click the Android switch to turn it on.
3. Set up a certificate set for the app:
   • If a certificate set does not exist, create a certificate set.
   • If the certificate set exists, in the Certificate set list, select an existing certificate set. To display the list, you might have to click Modify build.
4. Optional: Specify versioning and debugging options by expanding the Advanced section within the Android section:
   • In the Version field, enter the release version for your app. For more information, see Auto-incrementing app version.
   • Select the Set build version check box, and in the Build version field, enter the build version for your app. For more information, see Setting the build version.
   • Set up debugging options.
5. Optional: Set up password enforcement and an alternative server URL by expanding the Advanced section below the App branding section:
   • Set up a password enforcement option.
   • Set up alternative server URL.
6. Click Build now.
