Changing the status of a case

Change the status of a case as it moves through the case life cycle to communicate to stakeholders how close the case is to resolution.

As a best practice, manage changes to status at the stage level of the case life cycle because stages are easier to maintain than steps, flow shapes, or programmatic updates to properties.
  1. In the navigation panel of Dev Studio, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
  2. On the Workflow tab, click Life cycle if Optional actions is selected.
  3. Click a stage name.
  4. On the General tab of the property panel, change the case status.
    • To use an existing status, press the Down Arrowy key in the Set case status on stage entry field, and then select a status value.

    • To create a custom status, enter a unique name in the Set case status on stage entry.

  5. Click Save.
