Transforming a temporary case into a permanent object

Use the Persist Case shape to transform a temporary case into a permanent object in your database. By using this shape as part of your duplicate tracking logic, you can save resources and ensure that your application creates only unique cases.

  1. Add the Persist Case shape to the life cycle of your case:
    1. In the navigation panel of App Studio, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
    2. On the Workflow tab, click Life cycle.
    3. In a stage, click + Step > More > Automations > Persist case.
      Tip: For advanced processes, click Configure process to add the shape to the flow canvas.
    4. Click Select.
  2. From the list on the left, select the type of case that you want to create.
  3. Enter an audit note.
  4. Click Save.
  5. To mark the case as temporary until the system transforms it into a permanent object, on the Settings tab, click General and select the Create temporary case that is not saved until a 'Persist case' step is reached check box.
  6. Click Save.
