About Connect dotNet rules

Use a Connect dotNet rule to define a connector from Pega Platform to a Web service that is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework.

The following tabs are available on this form:

Access

To list the Connect dotNet rules in your application, use the Application Explorer or Configure > Integration > Connector Definitions & Simulations.

To list all Connect dotNet rules that are available to you, use the Records Explorer.

Development

The development process is similar to Connect SOAP development process. If a WSDL file describing the Web service is available, use a wizard to generate classes, properties, and Connect dotNet rules, rather than creating them one by one through rule forms. See About the Connector and Metadata wizard .

To use the wizard, select Configure > Integration > Connectors > Connector and Metadata wizard .

To debug your application, you can simulate a dotNet connector when the external system is unavailable or lacks a test environment. See Creating Connector Simulations.

Note: For information about how to handle attachments with SOAP connectors in PRPC 6.2 and later, see Using attachments with SOAP, dotNet, and HTTP connectors and services.

Where referenced

Connect dotNet rules can be referenced in an Integrator shape of a flow rule, or on the Definition tab of a Data Page rule, as the source of data for the contents of the data page.

Category

A Connect dotNet rule is an instance of the Rule-Connect-dotNet rule type. Conect dotNet rules belong to the Integration-Connectors category.
