Setting up your test environment

On the Setup & Cleanup tab you can configure which actions will be performed and which objects and pages will be available on the clipboard before and after the test is run.

To set up the clipboard, complete the following steps.

  1. Complete one of the following actions:
  2. Click the Setup & Cleanup tab.
  3. To make specific user pages from the clipboard available during test execution, in the Clipboard pages subsection of the Before rule execution section, click Add clipboard page. Perform the following actions:
    1. Optional: To select clipboard pages from a different thread, click current thread name and then click desired thread name.
    2. Select check boxes next to all pages that you want to be available in the clipboard during test execution.
    3. Click OK.
  4. To edit a clipboard page, click the Gear icon. You can then rename the parent page, modify the values of existing properties or add new properties and their values to the parent page and child pages.
  5. In the Additional clipboard data subsection of Before rule execution section, click Add step.
  6. Select Apply data transform, Load data page, Execute activity, Load object, Create data object, or Create work object and then provide the appropriate data transform, activity, data page, class, page name in the fields that are displayed.
  7. If parameters are configured on the rule, you can modify them by clicking the Parameters link and providing values in the Configure parameters dialog box.
  8. If keys are configured on the loaded or created object, you can define their values by clicking the Keys for the class link and providing values in the Configure parameters dialog box.
  9. Optional: Provide additional information in the Enter comments field.
  10. In After rule execution section, click Add step.
    Note: This section is only available when setting up test cases.
  11. Select Apply data transform, Load data page, Execute activity, or Load object and then provide the appropriate data transform, activity, data page, class, page name in the fields that are displayed.
  12. If parameters are configured on the rule, you can configure them by clicking the Parameters link and providing values in the Configure parameters dialog box.
  13. If keys are configured on the loaded or created object, you can define their values by clicking the Keys for the class link and providing values in the Configure parameters dialog box.
  14. Optional: Provide additional information in the Enter comments field.
  15. Click Save.
