Configuring the Stream service

Configure the Stream service to ingest, route, and deliver high volumes of data such as web clicks, transactions, sensor data, and customer interaction history. By configuring the Stream service, you provide your system with a resiliency mechanism that replicates processing data to multiple nodes to prevent data loss.

Note: Pega Cloud Services provisions stream nodes for clients, do you do not need to manually perform this task in Pega Cloud Services environments.
Before you begin: Add at least one Stream node to start the Stream service. For more information, see Adding nodes to Decision Management services.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure > Decisioning > Infrastructure > Services > Stream Service.
  2. In the Stream nodes section, click Edit settings.
  3. In the Replication factor field, specify the number of copies that are processed on the Stream nodes.
For example: If you have three nodes and the replication factor is set to 2, then all processing data is available on two of the three nodes. If one node goes down, processing continues on the remaining node.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Optional: On the Stream tab, on the Execute menu, select an action that you want to run for the selected Stream node.
For more information, see Managing decision data nodes.
  6. Optional: To display the status parameters of a selected Stream node, on the Stream tab, click the row for that node.
For more information, see Status parameters of Stream nodes.
