Specifying the production level

Define who can access and make changes to your system by specifying its production level.

Production levels control the types of changes that are allowed and specify the purpose of the environment, for example, development or production.

Set a high production level to implement a restrictive security scheme where only few users can edit rules. Use a low production level (typically 2) for development environments where developers can create and update rules with minimal restrictions.

The current production level is displayed in the upper-right corner of your screen.

  1. In the navigation panel of Dev Studio, click Records.
  2. Expand the SysAdmin category, and then click System.
  3. Click the name of the system for which you want to specify the production level.
  4. In the Production level list, click one of the following options:
    • 1 - Sandbox
    • 2 - Development
    • 3 - Quality assurance
    • 4 - Staging
    • 5 - Production
  5. Click Save.
What to do next: Restart your system for the production level changes to take effect.
