Configuring a response in the Facebook chatbot preview console

When you simulate a conversation in the preview console for a Facebook channel, the chatbot uses text analysis to make a best guess as a response to a command. You can configure the response for the command that you enter, and rebuild the text analysis model to improve the chances that the chatbot responds correctly in the future.

Before you begin: 

To use Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Facebook in your application, you must obtain and install the Facebook channel component from Pega Exchange.

  1. In the preview console, enter a command or a greeting message.
    Result: A response for the command is displayed by the chatbot.
  2. Display the response details for the chatbot by turning on the Show analysis switch.
  3. In the Reply section, click the Gear icon.
  4. In the Response type list, select a response type.
  5. In the Response command field:
    • Add a new command or greeting message.
    • Edit an existing command or greeting message.
  6. In the Response text field:
    • Edit text for the response.
    • Enter text for the response.
    • Click Add existing to select a predefined text for the response.
  7. Optional: If the command for response requires authentication, select the Requires authentication check box.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. Optional: When you make all the configuration changes in the preview console, rebuild the model by clicking Build.
