Creating a setting

Create a setting rule to define when an Access of Role to Object rule takes effect. When an Access of Role to Object rule is not associated with a setting, it is applied unconditionally.

1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Create > Security > Setting.
2. Enter a short description and a setting name. Begin the name with a letter, and use only alphabetic and numeric characters.
3. Enter the applies-to class.
   The applies-to class equals the access class on the Access of Role to Object instance that uses this setting.
4. Click Create and open.
5. Configure the setting as described in Configuring a setting.
