IVA for Facebook

You can configure a Facebook channel so that users interact with a Pega Platform application to answer questions, report an issue, or step through a process by chatting using Facebook Messenger. A Facebook channel that you configure in Pega Platform acts as Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) for Facebook.

Once you have IVA for Facebook ready, users can communicate with a Pega Platform application by using Facebook Messenger. You can define more custom responses to fit the business needs of your organization and to extract the intent of users with the natural language processing (NLP) and text analytic capabilities. By using the preview console you can test whether the configured IVA for Facebook works correctly before moving it to a production environment.

Note: Once IVA for Facebook is in a production environment, you can lock its rulesets.
Note: To use Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Facebook in your application, you must obtain and install the Facebook channel component from Pega Exchange.
