Changing the level of a feature

Change the relative position of a feature in the feature hierarchy to support reuse and extension in other applications.

Before you begin: Ensure that you feature does not have any of the following characteristics:

  • Has dependencies from applications that build on your application

  • Has dependencies from later versions of your application

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Overview.
  2. In the Features section, click the Switch to tree view icon.
  3. Expand the list of features and subfeatures to review the different levels in your feature hierarchy.
  4. Drag a feature to a new position in the list to change its level and the level of its subfeatures.
