Creating a Facebook channel

Create Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) for Facebook so that users interact with a Pega Platform application to answer questions, report an issue, or step through a process in Facebook Messenger.

You can define more custom responses to fit the business needs of your organization and to extract the intent of users with natural language processing (NLP), decisioning, and text analytic capabilities. In the preview console, you can test whether the configured Facebook channel works correctly before moving the channel to a production environment.

Note: The design and development of IVA for Facebook requires open rulesets. However, once an IVA for Facebook is in a production environment, you can lock the rulesets. You must unlock the rulesets only when you need to build more models or change the IVA channel configuration in a production environment.
