Exporting training data for an IVA

Training data improves the text analysis and artificial intelligence of Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA). When you export training data for an IVA to a file, you can later reuse this training data in other IVAs that are still in the development or QA stage. Reusing the training data ensures that the other IVAs quickly learn to detect the correct topics and entities in text, so that the IVAs can better respond to users during chat conversations.

Before you begin: Perform the following tasks to prepare sample training data in an IVA:
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Channels and interfaces.
  2. In the Current channel interfaces section, click the icon that represents your existing Unified Messaging or Web Chatbot channel.
  3. In the channel, click the Training data tab.
  4. Click the More icon above the list of training records, and then click Export data.
Note: You can export data only if the IVA contains at least one training record.
  5. In the Export data window, select one of the following options:
    • To export only the reviewed data, click Reviewed only.
    • To export all data for the model, click Reviewed and unreviewed.
Note: You can choose to export only reviewed training data that is already verified by an IVA developer.
  6. Click Export.
  7. Click Download and save the training data as a .zip file.
What to do next: Import the saved training data from the .zip file to another IVA, for example, in a development or QA environment. For more information, see Importing training data for an IVA.
