Tracing background processing

Suggest edit Updated on August 25, 2021

Trace whether your job, queue processor, or agent runs and completes as expected. After the trace is complete, you can view the exceptions and debug the issues accordingly.

The following are the methods for tracing:

For information regarding the results of a trace, see Tracer results window.

  • Tracing a job

Trace whether your job runs when the activity it executes fails or does not work as expected. You can analyze the results of tracing for troubleshooting.

  • Tracing a queue processor

Ensure that the system processes your activities successfully by checking the statuses of the activities that queue processors resolve. For example, you can identify and fix issues that affect indexing information about assignments to ensure that your data is available in the system.

  • Tracing an agent

On the Agent Management landing page, you can trace agents to check for errors in agent activity. After the trace has been completed, you can view the exceptions and debug the issues accordingly.
