Implementing Cosmos React UI in Pega Platform

Updated on February 7, 2022

Prepare Pega Platform and your application for the new run-time framework that offers an updated set of UI capabilities. In the 8.5 release, you can test the full Cosmos React UI experience, which is an advanced beta, or decide to use only the production-ready Cosmos React UI for landing pages.

By default, all new applications use Cosmos React UI for landing pages. For more information, see Previewing Cosmos React UI.

Note: In Pega Cloud 2.17, the HIPAA template does not support Cosmos React UI.
Note: Cosmos React UI is not available for the Personal Edition version of Pega Platform.
Before you begin: Review the deployment types for Cosmos React UI. For more information, see Cosmos React UI service, deployment, and network configuration.
  1. For on-premises systems where Cosmos React UI was not installed with Pega Infinity, complete the manual installation:

Note: Pega Infinity must use a secure HTTPS protocol to support Cosmos React UI.
  2. Configure DSS and REST API settings for Pega Platform.

Note: You do not have to configure Pega Platform for Cosmos React UI if you use Pega Cloud. In Pega Cloud, the system configures automatically during deployment.
For more information, see Configuring Pega Platform for Cosmos React UI.
  3. Ensure that your application uses an app alias.

For more information, see Adding an application URL alias.
  4. For Cosmos React UI for landing pages, ensure that your application uses either the UI Kit theme or theme Cosmos.

Caution: App Studio does not support Cosmos React UI portals in applications that do not use the UI Kit or theme Cosmos. For more information, see Pega Design Systems.
  5. Enable the Cosmos React UI architecture:
