Additional NBA Strategy framework components

Updated on September 15, 2022

The following features in the Next-Best-Action Designer Framework are driven by Decision Data Rules (DDRs) which need to be configured directly by the user.

Pega Customer Decision Hub
Propensity Thresholds
Define which actions should not be considered for arbitration based on propensity.
Note: Starting in Pega Customer Decision Hub 8.7, this feature may now be configured from the Arbitration tab in Next-Best-Action Designer.
Priority Thresholds
Define which actions should not be considered for arbitration based on priority.
Action Limits
Define which actions should be eliminated after arbitration.
Arbitration Influencers
Define how action outcomes will influence future arbitration.
Journey Upweighting
Define weight adjustment properties for Journey Stages.
Note: Starting in Pega Customer Decision Hub 8.7, this feature may now be configured from the Engagement Policy tab in Next-Best-Action Designer when editing a journey stage.

Each of these features is described in more detail in their separate sections.

  • Setting Propensity Thresholds

Propensity Thresholds are a means of setting a minimum value for the adaptive model propensity below which actions or treatments will not be considered for arbitration.

  • Setting Priority Thresholds

Priority Thresholds are a means of setting a minimum value for the calculated priority below which actions or treatments will not be considered for arbitration.

  • Setting limits on the number of actions

The Final Action Limits feature can be used to control the number of actions delivered to contacts.

  • Setting Output Bundling and Primary Contact options

The Output Bundling Settings DDR contains the automatic bundling options for delivering actions - primarily on outbound channels, although the options are available for inbound channels if required.

  • Using Arbitration Influencers

The purpose of arbitration influencers is to use the insights gained from the outcome of presenting an action to influence the arbitration of the same action - or one or more related actions - at some future interaction.

  • Adjusting journey weight

You can now adjust the journey weight in the Customer Decision Hub portal. This feature is available in the Business levers / Journey weighting section on the Arbitration tab of Next-Best-Action Designer.
