Configuring a layout for the reuse of a web portal

Instantly deploy an existing Pega Mobile Client 7-based mobile app that you imported, for example, from a previous version of Pega Platform, before you start adding new features and functions. Alternatively, use a web portal that is different from the default one that is specified in the access group for the application.

By default, when you build a mobile app that is based on the Pega Mobile Client, the app uses a layout with a navigation rule that defines the functionality of the bottom bar and can use multiple webviews that display different screens of the application. A mobile app with a bottom bar is easier to navigate and can be configured for work on multiple cases at the same time. For more information, see Configuring a layout with advanced mobile features.

However, when you build an offline-enabled mobile app, the Reuse web portal option is selected automatically.

If you have defined several web portals for the application and associated them with the access group for the application, you can create a mobile app for each of the web portals.

Before you begin: Open the mobile channel configuration page.
  1. On the Layout tab, in the Layout section, in the Application layout area, select Reuse web portal.
  2. Hover over the Reuse web portal tile, and then click Configure.
  3. Select a web interface from the list, and then click OK.
  4. Optional: To configure additional options for the layout, in the Advanced layout settings section, select the settings that you want to enable.
For example: You can specify whether users can refresh the screen with a swipe down gesture.
  5. Click Save.
